The University of Belize Hosts a Certification Ceremony for the Institute of Finance and Banking

The University of Belize launched the UB Institute of Banking and Finance (UB-IBF) on February 13, 2023. For the first time, Belizeans now have the opportunity to do their AML and other finance certification courses and training at home making it more convenient and cost-effective for participants. The institute assists financial organizations including banks, credit unions, insurance companies, and real estate firms, among others that are required by law to ensure proper training programs are in place for their staff. The UB-IBF forged strong partnerships with other national institutions such as the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and the Financial Services Commission and international partners like the AMLFC Institute of Florida

On September 01, 2023, the University of Belize held a certification ceremony to award the first cohort from the UB Institute of Banking and Finance (UB-IBF). The twenty-two awardees received their certificates for the completion of their certification as a “Certified Anti-Money Laundering & Financial Crimes Prevention Professional (CAMLFC)”.
